Let me introduce you to my city:

 

I’m Ric Matthews; Edinburgh’s my city. I was born and for most of my life, lived and worked here. I'm breaking out of the mould and want to use my experience as a native of this city, in a way that will help you the visitor to discover what my city can offer.

 

Some people say Edinburgh is "a very attractive city", some even think "one of the best" and have commented to me, "It must be a pleasure to live here in such a beautiful city".

A few years ago I took some time out and explored the rest of Scotland. On the occasions I returned to Edinburgh, I had the opportunity to look and see my city as a visitor. I delved into Edinburgh's history and researched all the attractions the city offers. I  even worked my way through many of the bars and restaurants in Edinburgh; what a gruelling task! Not really, I had a ball. Now armed with my experiences, I am making a video introduction to Edinburgh.

A complaint I hear from people visiting Edinburgh, is they never manage to meet local people. Edinburgh is a cosmopolitan city and traditionally has quite a high transient population, with amongst other things, the many students our universities manage to attract.

The city hosts many events each year, like, the Edinburgh fringe, where every August, half the world arrives on the city’s doorstep to showcases their talents, giving the city a immense buzz, but makes the nice but slightly reserved Edinburgers (a real name for people that hail from Edinburgh), go all to ground.

I have now encouraged a well chosen few, fellow Edinburgers, to follow in my footsteps and rediscover their enthusiasm for the city. Guess what; they can’t wait to share their knowledge with you. Their experience of the city, along with our tour, will ensure you find the best Edinburgh can offer.
